Blue is the most universally favoured colour out of them all and we can see why. Blue is unique and versatile, plus each shade of blue can mean a different thing. Blue is known to be linked with creativity, sky blue is linked to calming and helping a person relax, while dark blue is associated with intelligence.

Lapis Lazuli
If you thirst for blue beyond ultramarine,
Here is the blue that stains the artist’s hand,
Lifted out of the most precious seam in the generous heart of Badakshan
~ Imtiaz Dharker
Lapis Lazuli is a deep blue semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense colour.Lapis lazuli was being mined in the Sar-i Sang mines and in other mines in the Badakhshan province in northeast Afghanistan as early as the 7th millennium BC.
Lapis beads have been found at neolithic burials in Mehrgarh, the Caucasus, and even as far from Afghanistan as Mauritania. It was used for the eyebrows on the funeral mask of King Tutankhamun.Inspired by this beautiful colour here’s a sneak peek of our mood board that gave rise to the Chevron Lapis Bold fabric adorned by Leonora dining chair.
